Panelists

Micheline "Mickey" Blum is Director of Baruch College Survey Research at Baruch?s School for Public Affairs, which conducts surveys for city and state agencies and non-profit organizations, as well as for NY1 News. Prior to Baruch, she co-founded Blum & Weprin Associates, polling for NY1 News, the Daily News , the Dallas Morning News , the Star-Ledger , the New York Times Magazine , and NBC News. She is also a past president of NYAAPOR.

Maurice "Mickey" Carroll is Director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. He is the chief spokesperson for the New York and national polls and works with Douglas Schwartz to develop, analyze and present the results of the many polls conducted by Quinnipiac. Carroll's experience as a journalist includes work with The New York Times , Newsday , New York Post , and the Newark Star-Ledger . Carroll taught journalism at Columbia University, New York University and Montclair State College and presently teaches in Quinnipiac's mass communications program.

Ester Fuchs is Professor of Public Affairs and Political Science at Columbia University. From 2001-2005, she served as Special Advisor to the Mayor for Governance and Strategic Planning under Mayor Bloomberg. While at City Hall, Dr. Fuchs coordinated three significant mayoral initiatives, including the Integrated Human Services Systems Project to streamline functions within and across 13 human service agencies. She was also appointed by Mayor Bloomberg to serve as Chair of the 2005 NYC Charter Revision Commission, the first woman to serve in this capacity.
