PRESIDENT’S LETTER
Friends don’t let friends miss out.
Our 2004-2005 season is well underway. By the time you read this our program chair Sharon Yates will have presented four sessions. I can’t comment on the workshop I lead but the other three have been fantastic. We did have record attendance for our election wrap up session, but NYAAPOR vets know that is nothing new.
I was sorry so many members missed the Nielsen panel and the Online survey workshop. Both were excellent. They entertained and informed at the same time. Younger and older members alike got a lot out of both. If you were one of the attendees, encourage your friends and colleagues to join up and come to future sessions so they won’t miss out on the rest of the good stuff Sharon has planned for 2005. I think her sessions on cell phone issues in sampling and a much-awaited panel on Religion in America both will be ones not to miss.
Vanessa Downing is doing an excellent job as our Membership Chair and I encourage you to get your friends to join up. They can’t come if they don’t join and they will be missing a lot of they don’t attend the bulk of the sessions in 2005. She is ably assisted by Joyce Rachelson who took over our Sponsorship program this year and has raised a record amount of money. A sincere thanks to all the companies that have sponsored our organization and thanks to Joyce for making it happen.
Remember our theme for the year – “Friends Don’t Let Friends Miss Out.” So bring a friend to the next meeting and call a friend and ask them to join up. And if you are one of the ones who has missed out on the great programs this year, then accept this outreach from a friend to join up and join in. I’ll see you at the next meeting.
