Join us for a some light Holiday frivolity! Get to know your NYAAPOR Board and fellow members.

The New York chapter of AAPOR is holding a holiday networking and trivia fun event via Zoom for members only on Thursday, December 17th, 6-7 pm. All members are invited to this opportunity to connect with old and new friends. The event is free, with a suggested donation of $5.

There will be two parts to the event: (1) A holiday movie and music trivia game, and (2) Speed networking.

For the holiday movie and music trivia game we'll put together a slide presentation with pictures, videos, and songs, and ask a question about each one. People can follow along and play. We'll tally up the results at the end and there will be a gift card prize for the winner!

For networking, people will take turns giving an elevator speech about who they are and what they are doing right now as they move along in their career path. It’s not just for those looking for a job. It’s a chance to tell others what you do so that you partner or collaborate. It can help those looking for a new job or those who are seeking a new business opportunity. It's a way to support others during these challenging times while we are social distancing. All in all, it’s simply a way to have fun with your NYAAPOR colleagues!

Six Tips for Your Script

1. Start with a basic introduction like your name, where you live and your current job situation

2. Tell us your about your current work role or tell us about your job search

3. Be authentic and accessible

4. If helpful, write a script, or at least an outline.

5. Maybe even record it and practice in advance to make sure you keep within 1-2 minutes!

6. Have fun!
