Reading the Electorate
What the Data Says About the 2026 Midterms
The 2026 midterms are approaching fast. What do we know so far about how Americans might vote?
Join us for a data-driven look at the midterm political landscape from journalist and pollster G. Elliott Morris, author of “Strength in Numbers: How Polls Work and Why We Need Them.” Elliott will dig into his polling microdata on President Trump's approval ratings, break down the House generic ballot, and explore what voters are looking for from Democrats as they try to mount a comeback. We'll also examine whether historical midterm patterns still hold, and how economic sentiment and issue salience are shaping the electorate.
Come with questions for a Q&A session moderated by Michael Schwam-Baird, Ph.D., Deputy Program Director of Political Analytics at Columbia University.
